5 year old boy from Udumalpet declared brain dead; Liver, Kidney, Heart and other vital organs harvested under Transtan guidelines

Organs harvested from an five-year-old boy from Udumalpet after he was declared brain dead, gave a new lease of life to four persons. The donor has been identified as V. Sivadhitya, S/o. S Vignesh , Udumalpet, Tiruppur District.

Sivadhitya and his grandfather met with an Road Traffic Accident recently and shifted to Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore for treatment. He did not respond for the intensive treatment and he was declared brain dead on Thursday(March 12, 2026). Parents of Sivaditya came forward to donate their son’s organs. A team of multi-organ transplant surgeons harvested the Liver, Kidneys and Heart of the deceased in accordance with the guidelines of the Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu.

The Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu allotted one Kidney to Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, where they were transplanted to a needy patient. The other Kidney, Liver and Heart were sent to private hospitals in Salem and Chennai.

The Royal Care management had thanked the noble contribution of the parents for the organ donation which saved four lives
