Work experience

I have an experience of having performed more than 8,000 Cardiac Surgeries in adult, paediatric and neonatal age group. As in any cardiac surgery set up Coronary artery bypass grafting always lists as the most commonly performed surgery. I have performed more than 4000 Coronary Bypass Grafting surgeries. Presently 80% of the bypass surgeries performed is done using beating heart technique (OFF PUMP).

Arterial conduits remain the first choice for all cases

When some other lesion either cardiac or non-cardiac coexists, warranting urgent attention combined procedures have been done. Quiet a good number of such combined procedures were done. CABG +various vascular bypass surgeries etc., apart from the usual combined cardiac procedures like MVR, AVR, DVR, pericardiectomy etc. were successfully done.

I have experience in Paediatric cardiac surgery as well. Operated complex congenital cardiac defects with acceptable mortality. Have operated the lowest weight baby undergoing Open heart surgery in Coimbatore (1.7Kg) Youngest baby operated is 2days old, who underwent an Arterial switch operation

Other complex corrective surgeries for birth defects of heart done are Fontan procedures, TAPVC, Rastelli procedures, Ebsteins, DORV etc. Also have experience in major and peripheral vascular work, including Aneurysms of Aorta, Dissection of aorta etc. As a social commitment, lead the team to screen unfortunate children in orphanages and Government schools in remote areas. Such screening helped in detecting around 800 children in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Karur needing cardiac surgery. Operated more than 700 children with the help of Rotary, Round table and other philanthropists.
